Daily Prompt: Panoply

I looked up Panoply in Merriam-Webster and found it had several meanings. Two I really liked: A full suit of armor and something forming a protective covering. It stopped me and made me think about people and how some people create an aura of panoply around themselves. They keep their real selves hidden and protected never to be shared with the world or share only with people they have come to believe they can trust. However, that trust is also fleeting if a mistake is made by that person they have trusted.

The next time you are with a person who you consider a friend and they keep asking about you and others, stop and think that maybe they just want you to ask about them.
